the plan.

I'm talking about the plan for the Walt Disney World vacation! I'm nervous. I don't want to gain weight and have to loose the same 5 pounds for the 3rd time. I want to get below 155 finally, and keep going, moving closer to my goal. I've asked on the WW 20's board, because that's where I spend all my free time when I'm procrastinating, duh, and just asked for encouraging words and tips for my upcoming vacation.
I haven't really talked about lent on here, but this year, I'm making an effort to eat less meat, and the meat that I do eat, I'm going to try to buy organic meat. We're definitely doing meatless Mondays and meatless Fridays in our household, much to the complaint of Mr. Skinny. I told him that he doesn't have to abide by it, and can take meat to lunch with him if he wants, but I want to be follow a vegetarian diet on Monday and Friday.

Now, I was debating on ignoring this lenton decision during my weeklong vacation, but I think that I can just suck it up and follow. This is what lent is about, right? Giving up something. I have our sit-down meals scheduled, and Monday we'll be at Magic Kingdom, having a breakfast buffet, and I think I could do vegetarian for that. Friday we'll be at Animal Kingdom, with another breakfast buffet scheduled in the morning. Normally we eat at a BBQ place when we are in Animal Kingdom, but we'll just have to find somewhere else to eat, not a problem.

Other than that, here are is my plan for Disney:
1. Walk. A lot. People have walked 18 miles in one day just walking around the parks.
2. Focus on portion sizes. Don't eat everything on your plant just because it's there. An appetizer and dessert is included in our sit-down meals. Don't eat it just because it's included.
3. Take snacks. I'm going to take my jar of peanut butter, bread, and a few apples, and clif bars. Anyone have any suggestions for a fruit I can take with me in my suitcase?
4. Take my water bottle. I can take my water bottle into the park, and just keep refilling it with water. It's going to be warm, I need to keep hydrated.
5. Have fun. Don't stress if you eat too much.

The weather is going to be amazing! They aren't calling for ANY rain - only 10% chance on Tuesday, sunny and mostly sunny every. single. day. 79-81 every day! I have my summer clothes packed. I am taking every pair of shorts and capris I own, cause ya know, a girl's gotta have choices. I'm going to rush home after work today and finish packing my clothes. I have a few tank tops, although I don't think it will be quite that warm. I'll have to take a bunch of t-shirts, and even a zip-up since it will be in the 50s when we first get to the parks in the morning.
I'm going to have a fabulous vacation, not to mention I get to cross another thing off on my 101 in 1,001 list, cause I'm going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which is a part of Islands of Adventure in Universal Studios. I'm going just for a day, but that was my mom's birthday present for me since she knows how badly I want to go there. I am going to have SO much fun there. I am one of the biggest Harry Potter dorks you'll ever meet, as well as Disney nerd. This is my dream vacation, and I think God knew that I would need it when we planned it. I have some things I want to talk to my momma about, and what better than a week with her in the happiest place on earth?
See ya when I get back!

  3. Not gonna lie! I'm smiling on this end! Good Luck with your meatless mondays and fridays. I have a few recipes on my blog, which i'm sure you've seen. I will be trying a new meal and blogging about it tonight or tomorrow.

I will warn you. Eating out is difficult but not impossible if and when you go out to eat on a monday or friday.

One of my favorite things to make for lunch and I have it almost everyday is a veggie wrap or sandwich. I take a flatt out (or two pieces of bread) with two tablespoons of hummus (sometimes I use a wedge of laughing cow cheese). I put cut up bell peppers and cucumber on the wrap/bread. Topped with jalapeno, pickles and mustard. Very similar to the veggie sandwich at subway. So tasty and yummy. With a PP value of around 4 or 5. :)

    Have fun on your trip!

  4. Your plan sounds great! And I've always heard good things about Disney being happy to cater to vegetarian diets so you should be fine! :)
