Labor Day Weekend.

I am horrible at taking pictures. For real, please forgive me. I don't like reading picture-less posts either, so I'm adding some pictures that are not mine. Just taken from google. Anyways, I hope everyone's weekend was really good and an enjoyable "last weekend of summer" like they've been saying. The wonderful they who no body knows who they are. Wow, I'm really good at randomness this morning. Sorry about that, I'm kinda tired.

Friday night we picked up our new truck. Yes, we got a new truck. We looked at our finances and Mr. Skinny does need a truck for winter, something with 4-wheel drive. It might take us a little longer to pay off our credit cards then, but we have the money for a truck payment each month and we found a perfect truck for Mr. Skinny. 2009 Toyota Tacoma. Same color as this picture.

The color is pyrite mica, but it's just gray, right?

Saturday morning, Mr. Skinny and my brother helped my dad put the door up on our shed. My dad hurt his back a few weeks ago, and he hasn't be able to finish the shed that is thisclose to being finished, so they helped him out. Then we headed to the farmer's market for some awesome fresh fruits and veggies. After that we went to a wood party. Get your mind out the gutters, we stacked firewood for Mr. Skinny's family. With the hurricane, there's been a ton of trees down, so that means tons of firewood for us folk who have fireplaces. Saturday night we just chilled at hung out with my family.

Sunday morning was church, followed by some hard core movie watching. We watched RED at Mr. Skinny's parent's house, which was pretty good. Then went over to Grandma's house for a cook-out, and visited with the family. Back over to Mr. Skinny's parent's house for another movie - The Other Guys. It was okay, but nothing special I thought. When we came home, I watched Definitely Maybe that I had on the DVR which was another okay movie, a good TV movie, but I'm glad I didn't pay to see it in theaters.

Yesterday, we slept in, Mr. Skinny and my brother finished the inside of the shed, and got all the boat stuff in there for my dad. Mr. Skinny went to do some stuff for his dad while I cooked dinner for last night and tonight. I made some london broil, and my plan was to grill it, but the grill ran out of gas, so I just had to broil it. I don't think I cooked it long enough, I'd say it was between rare and medium rare, which kind of grossed me out, so I learned my lesson with that. And I caught up on Keeping up with the Kardashians. I know, super lame show, but one day that I didn't have internet last week I started watching it and now I'm hooked. The bad part is, I've never watched or followed along with what was happening in their family, so I have no idea what happened to them ever. I need to catch up on all the episodes, haha!

Ryan Seacrest looks so out of place here!

This morning I'm back to work. Awesome. Working for a financial advisor who thinks you shouldn't get a truck and telling him you got one isn't my idea of a good time. But looks like I'm gonna do it anyways.

Tell me:

What was something you did this weekend?
Do you like reality TV?
How do you like your meat cooked?

Happy Belated 4th.

I had a wonderful weekend. Way too fast though, but that's what happens. Now I'm gonna get back to my routine, running, yoga, looking for a job. Mr. Skinny's grandma's financial advisor who called me a few weeks ago called me again while I was grocery shopping. He told me to call him back and that's exactly what I did once I got home, and he's not there. I still haven't heard from Wells Fargo. I'm going to call the store tomorrow and see if I can get anywhere with them. This is getting ridiculous.

It's also really hard because, like I mentioned a few weeks ago, I'm trying to figure out what God wants me to do. I also mentioned that I was programmed to be a mom, that's what I've wanted to do my whole life. Mr. Skinny and I both felt like God was telling us to start our family back in February when Mr. Skinny's grandfather died. It's always on my mind, of course, but we really got talking about it. Now with him having a pretty good job, it's talked about even more. He wants to get our credit cards paid off, which I know is a smart idea, but is that really what we're supposed to do? I'm kind of feeling like me having this much trouble finding a job is God's way of saying to start our family now. Mr. Skinny is trying to deny it though, even though I know He feels the same thing. It's almost like we're hoping for an unplanned pregnancy (even though we're on the pill), so that we know for sure that God wants us to have a baby. Sorry about the serious topic, but with these two faces all weekend, my baby fever is on HIGH!

I seriously spoiled them both rotten. The baby was in my arms just about all weekend and I loved every minute of it. He's adorable, they're both adorable and I can't wait to have my cousin's life of a stay at home mom.

I ate too much, but not a excessive amount. I tracked everything to the best of my ability, though. I ate my oatmeal for breakfast and tried to fill up on fruits (with cream cheese fruit dip) and veggies (dipped in ranch) :) I tried though, right? I ran with my cousin on Saturday night, and we took a long walk on Sunday night, so even though I ate wayyy too much this weekend, I kind of counter-acted it with some exercise. I also went for a run this morning, but it was too hot to do a real run, and it's not my normal day anyways. I'm working on it. I'm planning on getting up tomorrow around 7am to run so I can beat the heat.

I'm off to cook some dinner! Hope you all have a fabulous night!

WI Friday.

So ya know how I said a little bit ago I was going to do bi-weekly weigh ins? Yeah, I haven't been doing that. For right now though, weekly weigh ins work for me. I'm loosing, even though it's v e r y s l o w, it's going. I lost another 0.8 this week. This is really great for me, seriously. Slow and steady wins the race, and I know that, for sure!

I went for my run this morning, and it was another "eh" run, but it's done. I haven't had a good run in a while. I probably need to drink more water and eat more fruits and veggies. I'm slacking on veggies especially, big time. Another 2.81 finished. I only walked 3 times, and I timed the last 2 to make sure it wasn't over 1 minute. I think I held a pretty steady 11-12 minute pace for all of the running section, and my walks weren't too bad either.

Now for my plans this weekend. I'm going to my cousin's house, ya know the one who serves her kid toaster strudels for breakfast, and pizza rolls for dinner? Yeah, her. Now don't get me wrong, she's my favorite cousin in the world, and her and I are basically like sisters. Neither one of us has a sister, and even though we're 6 years apart, we've stayed close our whole lives. I want to come up with a plan. I've been tracking every day for 20 days (according to My Fitness Pal), and I want to keep that going. There is NO reason to give myself a free-for-all all weekend.

With my oatmeal discovery this week, I think I'm going to make my own prepackaged oatmeal for breakfast. I'm taking some fruit for fruit salad, but that's the only plan that I have. At least I'll have a filling breakfast? It's so hard to plan for stuff like this. As long as I track everything though, that's what really matters. I'll make smart choices and really watch my hunger signals, that's the most important.

I probably won't post until Tuesday, but have a nice long 4th weekend!!

What are your plans for the 4th weekend?

A Super Long Weekend.

I'm going to warn you. This post is probably going to be wordy and not have any pictures. If I add pictures while I'm writing a blog on my PC at work, it screws everything up. But I have important information for my readers and I won't have time until June 13 to write a proper post at home with my Mac.

The reason?

We're moving. Officially. My last day of work is next Friday.

Mr. Skinny interviewed with a construction company last Friday, and they gave him the job on the spot. He went for his drug test and physical right after the "interview" and will have to go to orientation either this week or next.

I'm excited, really I am, but it's hard to close this chapter of my life. And while I absolutely love being around family and dispise the 200 mile, nearly 4 hour drive that it is from PA to Maryland again, I loved being on our own, away from drama, able to do what we want and not have to check in with anyone. We'll be living with my parents, and yes, I know that we're not going to be reverting back to being in high school with curfews and such, but I'm probably still going to let my mom know where we're going.

And I've learned to love my job and the people I work with. It's really hard to tell them I'm leaving, I know they appreciate me and everything I do. But this is the right thing. I know it is. On Friday morning, I got an email from the job that I had applied for in Maryland saying they were "pursuing other candidates." It was a sign from God that Mr. Skinny and I were making the right decision. As much as I love my job, I have to stay in school to keep my job, and we couldn't go for a few years with me going to school every semester. Even if it is a community college, it's still $800/semester.

My parents are ecstatic. Mr. Skinny's grandma is just as ecstatic. My in-laws are excited, too. Even our siblings are excited. Mr. Skinny was beeming all weekend. I'm excited, too. I just need to be okay with leaving the life I have and starting a new chapter in the book of my life (how corny does that sound?).

We also had a good long talk with Mr. Skinny's cousin and his wife about our lot. The cousin and his wife will be living next to us. We're going to be saving a lot of money so we can build our house faster. Next summer we're going to put our driveway in, splitting the cost with the cousin and wife. Hopefully in the next 3-4 years we'll be able to put our house in.

I should be excited for this because it's one step closer to having a baby. Mr. Skinny was worried about health insurance, but with this job, its free! I know it's a wonderful thing, it's just hard. I don't want people to look down on us because we're moving back in with my parents. It's not that we've failed. There's a huge empty room with it's own bathroom that no one uses! I've already had to answer the question "You're just staying with your parents until you find a place, right?"

You want the answer? No. Probably not. Well yes, eventually. But we'll probably live with my parents for a good few years. It's rent-free, and no one uses that area. We can save our money and get on our feet. Why buy a house just to move out in a year or so? And Mr. Skinny is DONE with apartments. Why pay rent, you aren't getting anything out of it. That's his problem, and I understand it, I do. So we'll save money and we probably won't move out until we have our house built. I really don't view it as taking advantage of my parents. I'll be cooking for them, and helping them out.

Okay. Sorry about the long-winded vent. I'm nervous, I'm excited. It's going to be hard, but it's going to be fun. I'm excited about the opportunity, but nervous about leaving our space and moving back in with family. But this is what God wants us to do.

What's a hard decision you had to make? Did it all work out?
Have you ever lived with your parents/in-laws after you were married?

Sigh - it's finally Friday

Now I'm full out sick. I'm glad this week is over. I gained, but I don't care. I mean I do, but I knew I was going to. Week before TOM and I ate garbage this week, I gave into any craving I wanted to. I'll track, but I know this week's number means nothing. I didn't eat that bad. I only earned 7 APs, and I didn't track most of my week. I knew I was going to gain. Oh well, I'll get my act together starting today.

I had a midterm yesterday, and another paper to hand in. I am so looking forward to my long 4 day weekend/fall break. I have a lot of catch up to do, but I'll be really excited to just not have to get out of my jammies for 4 days. Yes, I very well may not get out of my pajamas for 4 days.

Since we're staying home this weekend, have only have my cousin and her family come to visit tomorrow, I should stay on track all week. I need to.

That sickness that I thought I wasn't getting? Yeah, I got it. It's a cold, not a huge problem, but I just want to sleep. And I'm planning on sleeping all weekend and it's going to be glorious.
