Thirty-One Weeks.

My baby girl,

Time is beginning to fly! Well, not that it didn't fly before, but it's going even faster now! I can't believe that we only have about 2 more months until you join us! I know that some babies come late, and I'm mentally preparing to meet you in June rather than May, just in case May comes and go and you aren't ready to join us yet.

Speaking of Daddy, we still don't know if he's going to be laid off or not, we're just praying that he keeps working so that we can keep our insurance. I'm sure family would pitch in if we needed them to in order to keep us insured, I just don't want to put that pressure on anyone.

You are 15.2 - 16.7 inches, and weigh anywhere from 2.5 - 3.8 lbs. I swear I'm getting bigger every day, and can definitely feel how long you are. You love to hang out on my right side, and I can sometimes feel one extremity by my hip, and another by my belly button. I wonder if you can see my belly button and think it's interesting to kick because that's one of your favorite spots to poke! I've been trying to get you moving around on video, but you're still so stubborn as soon as I get the video rolling, you stop. I'm sure they'll be more opportunities to catch it though. Other than Daddy, the only family who have seen you moving is Grammy and Pappy/Grandpa - he doesn't know what he wants to be called yet. They were laughing and so excited to see you putting on a show for us. You're already so loved baby girl.

Other than your weight/height, you're brain is continuing to developed and your five senses are all functioning - crazy! It's so hard to believe that you went from this little tiny apple seed sized person to a full fledged human being, and I can't even see you yet. It's hard to imagine a little person rolling around and moving in there. You can turn your head and continuing to fatten up. I'm glad you'll be born in warmer weather, I think we'll have a lot of fun outside this summer! Apparently, you're also sleeping more, but I think you're awake more than you were, at least you're moving around more.

At my doctor's appointment last week, you were measuring right on track, and no one's said anything about changing your due date, so we're still going to go with May 26th, but I'm still thinking June. My weight is also good, they haven't said anything yet, so I'm just going to trust my body and go with the flow. I think, according to their scale, I'm up 22 pounds during pregnancy.

Walking is becoming more of a challenge, just a one mile walk is exhausting, and my belly starts to feel so heavy! Just walking around the mall on Saturday was a challenge, I'm just not used to that, I can usually push through, especially walking. But I've been trying to go for a few walks each week with Daddy.

Eating hasn't been too bad. I'm slacking a little on fruits and veggies, but slowly all the summer produce is showing up at Wegmans - I picked up my first cantaloupe and am so excited about them! My craving this week has been baked potatoes. Grandma and Pop Pop started that last weekend when they grilled some and I had 3 of them! I've been continuing them all last week and now into this week. At least I'm eating healthy foods, right? Granted, I'm sure the butter isn't so good...

When we said bye to Uncle Nate last night, he wanted to feel you, so I told him where you were and told him to feel how hard it was - I think he was afraid of hurting me or you, and he just gently put his hand on my belly. I told him he can poke that spot so that he could feel how hard it was, I'm not sure if he was nervous or what, but he did it. I thought it was cute how gentle he was.

Oh, and this is random, but I thought it was nice - I got my first comment from a stranger about you! I was at the post office, and an older woman asked when I was due, if I was having a girl or boy, etc. That's the first one I got, even though I think I have looked obviously pregnant for months now. I was so excited to have it be recognized by a stranger. Thank you, woman in the post office, for making my day!

I'm getting hungry little one, and I'm sure you are, too - so time to make some lunch! Keep moving around in there, I love feeling you move, although not when you're under my ribs. Keep growing and getting bigger (but not too big!).

Love,
Mommy

FYI - I might be MIA this week - I have to go with my brother to visit a college on Friday, so I'm working the next three days. I'll see if I can get a post or two written today, but if not, I'll check in next Monday!
