Dear little ____,
*I'm planning on doing a gender reveal this week, so fair warning, if you don't want to find out what I'm having, skip my post on Wednesday, and let me know you don't want to know so that I can keep my weekly letters gender neutral*
I know I say this every week, but you're growing! And time is flying! I can't believe that in about 11 weeks, give or take, we'll be able to meet you and snuggle you and hug and kiss you. Daddy and I are getting quite excited about it, and so are your countless family members - aunts, uncles, grandparents, great-grandmas and cousins!
We're finally almost finished with our room remodel, Daddy just has to finish up painting the trim and we have one more door left to paint. He might do another coat on the ceiling, only because he doesn't feel he did it right by only doing one coat, even though I think it looks just fine. It's so nice to have a room again. I know we have to move everything just one last time before we're completely finished, but I spent the weekend cleaning and organizing what I could.
Nesting has definitely kicked in - I scrubbed the whole bathroom on Saturday! I don't think I've ever done that. Daddy was happy, and Grammy even offered to let me continue cleaning by scrubbing their bathroom, but I politely declined that one. My feet and back hurt from all the working this weekend. I'm definitely not as in shape as I used to be.
I went for a walk today, and Daddy called, but I could barely talk I was so out of breath. I do kick myself for not staying on top of being active during my pregnancy, but I'm itching to get back to it once you decide to join us! With the weather so nice now, I don't think I'll have a problem going for a few walks each week, even if they're short, I know they'll add up. With the extra hour of sunlight at night, too, Daddy can encourage me to go for a walk since it'll still be light out when he comes home.
Back to you, little one. You should be around 15 inches long, and 2 1/2 lbs. Since you're running out of room, a lot of the movement I feel is more like rolls, I can feel a body part drag across my belly instead of just getting jabbed with an elbow, foot, or hand. I know I've been feeling you inside for months, but it's just so satisfactory to see my dragging something across my belly. So far, no one else has felt you besides Daddy, but that's because I haven't gotten good at knowing when you're really active, and I can't catch you moving to have anyone else feel you. And I don't know where you'll be next, so I don't want someone to just sit there for 5 minutes waiting to feel you move. I'm sure in the next month or so I'll be able to have your family feel you. Daddy said you were getting more "violent" since the last time he felt you move. He just meant that it was a lot strong than that last time he felt you move.
My eating habits have been pretty good this week, mostly because I've been craving salads with feta cheese and nuts, so I've had a huge salad every day. I don't think that's a problem at all, and it counteracts the dessert I have each night after dinner, too, right? I gained 1.9 lbs. this week, but because I know I'm eating healthy, I'm not concerned. I still count calories a few times a week just to make sure I'm not overdoing it, but I'm confident that this is just want you need little one!
Your favorite side is still my right side of my belly, and I think your feet or something likes to be under my ribs. Whenever I slouch, I feel like I'm poking you with my ribs! I don't want to hurt you, but I'm sure you're comfy in there.
I'm still leaking, it's getting worse, but I'm just appreciative of it instead of getting annoyed by it. I know that my body is preparing itself, and I'd rather be in awe of this miracle than let myself get annoyed by it. My constipation is gone, I think mostly due to my salad craving, and I have nothing else to add to the list of complaints. Haven't gotten heartburn, I've been sleeping pretty decent for this late in the game, although I get hip pain sometimes, but nothing major. I really can't complain, I am very blessed to be pregnant and can't wait to meet you, little one!
My birthday is on Wednesday, and even though I wish I could go back in time to last year and go to Disney World again, Daddy decided to let me go to the spa for the "mother-to-be package" - massage, a facial and a pedicure and I am so, so incredibly excited to go! My appointment is next Monday and I can't wait to be pampered.
Speaking of being pampered, Daddy and I went on a little bit of a shopping spree this weekend. I had a 30% off Kohls coupon and I just had to use it. I think you'll have enough clothes so last you a while, and I know you'll outgrow them fast, but I'm going to keep the tags on everything and I know because it's a Kohl's purchase and I used my Kohl's card, I can take anything back for any reason at any time and get the amount back that I paid for it. Just because of that, I think I'll be getting most of your clothes at Kohl's! I was surprised that Daddy let me get that much, but I think he'll be turning a blind eye to a lot of things when it comes to spending money on you. I can't wait to see him with you! We're so excited for you to join us, but you can stay put for a little bit longer and keep cooking. Everything is good and healthy!
Keep moving and growing! Daddy and I love you!
Love,
Mommy
