Thirty Weeks.

My dearest baby girl,

Our countdown is in the single digits now! Granted, I know that's the countdown until the "due date" and you'll come when you decide it's time, whether it's before that date, or after that date, and that's fine. I'm mentally preparing myself for a June baby anyway, so you come when you're good and ready, and unless there's a medical reason for it, I won't be evicting you based on what I think. Daddy and I will be putting our foot down if a doctor tries to tell us that you're too big and they think you should come out, unless there's a good medical reason. You'll come out when you're ready. Your Uncle Billy was 3 weeks late, so I'm not worried. I'll enjoy watching you move around in my belly and watching my belly grow!

Let's see how you're growing and changing, shall we? According to thebump.com, you are anywhere from 15.2-16.7 inches and I can definitely feel all of that length! Weight is about 2.5 to 3.8 lbs. I'm hoping for a smaller weight, but considering how big I am, maybe you'll be pretty big. I was under 7 lbs. when I was born, but I'm not sure how much Daddy was. Your brain is getting bigger and developing and your skin is getting smoother, and you're strong enough to grasp a finger! I wish I could see into my belly and see which parts of your body you're dragging across my belly. I love watching you move, I get a kick out of it every time I can watch my belly move. It's like I know that you're really there. Your vision is continuing to develop, but you can only see things a few inches from your face. You don't have much to look at in my belly anyways.

We had our second childbirth class yesterday and I'm even more comfortable about labor and delivery. I haven't been nervous at all about it, but I'm more relaxed than I was. I'm planning to write a post today to be up either tomorrow or Thursday. I also have a post about feeling about gaining weight during pregnancy that I started last week and should be up this week. Speaking of gaining weight, I gained another 2.3 last week, bringing my weight gain up to 26.2. And I put the scale away. I'll have more about that in the gaining weight post. With the warmer weather it's way easier to convince myself to go for a walk, or do yoga on the porch now that it's warmer out there now. With your stroller on the porch, Grammy even said if you were here she would take you for a little walk in the stroller. Hope you like walks, baby girl, I have a feeling you'll be going for a lot of them this summer and fall.

I also went for a birthday massage, facial and pedicure yesterday, thanks to Daddy. I don't know if you liked the massage or not, but you were moving around the whole time. I definitely liked the massage, but the facial was unnecessary, and the pedicure was the same I can get an cheaper nail places. I am so thankful to Daddy for that birthday present though. He is a wonderful guy, and I can't wait to see him holding you!

My salad cravings died down a little bit, but I still am going to try to eat them a few times a week. I know how nutritious they are, and I want to get you accustomed to all kinds of healthy foods. I haven't had any more cravings or aversions with my food. I'm still generally eating what I want and not having any issues.

On Saturday night though, I woke up with a really bad stomach ache that would come and go. I was awake for about an hour and I did throw up, but it didn't make the stomach ache go away. I was trying to analyze it to see if it was Braxton-Hicks contractions, but I didn't really feel like my uterus was tightening or anything, it just felt like a bad stomach ache that would come and go. I also got  a really bad heartache, but eventually I feel asleep again and woke up fine on Sunday morning. So I'm not sure if that was pregnancy related, or something I ate that didn't agree with me. I grilled on Saturday night, but no one else felt sick, so I'm not sure. I will bring it up at my doctor's appointment tomorrow.

We got a changing table! Your great Aunt Chrissy (I'm sure she loves being called that - haha!) offered us the changing table from her kids, and now that our room is finally done, we brought it over! We weren't going to get a changing table, but we figured it was free and they just had it sitting in their basement. I'm sure we could use one. So that's all set up in our room now. Daddy has to scrub it again and we need to buy a changing pad and covers, well put it on our registry and we'll be all set! Your cousin Krissy offered us her Boppy and her swing she has for Isaiah and Colton. We'll take any free stuff we can get our hands on! I'm very thankful for everything that we have and for all the generosity of our families. My shower is in one month from tomorrow and I'm super excited to have as much as possible to set everything up for you! Daddy and I are saving money because we know we won't get everything we "need" - but now that there's a possibility of him getting laid off, we'll just have to rely on God for getting us through this. Don't worry baby girl, no matter what, you'll be loved and you'll have the necessities. You won't get everything you want, but Daddy and I think that's a good thing.

I don't think I've talked names on here yet. We had two girl names picked out before we got pregnant, but our list has been ever changing and growing. Daddy is extremely picky about names, so we have our list which has four names on it, and we have the name picked that is our top choice, but we want to see you before we pick a name for sure. Your middle name will be after Grammy though, my middle name is after my Grammy, and I like that tradition. I know Grammy is thrilled about it, and deeply honored that you'll be named after her. Who knows, maybe when we see you we'll come up with a totally different name that fits you. We'll see!

I'm still leaking, but I have no other symptoms to add to the list. I'm still sleeping decently well, and I'm not swollen or crampy at all. No heartburn, shortness of breath, constipation. Granted, I loose my breath faster than I used to, but that's what happens. Nothing super annoying though. I am very blessed in this pregnancy and hope that this is a sign of labor and that I'm not jinxing myself that I had an easy pregnancy, but will have a terrible labor! I'm starting to settle into pregnancy, rubbing my belly all the time, watching you move and kick, wondering what you're going to look like or when you'll be born. I am definitely thankful every day for you baby girl.

Keep moving and growing!

Love,
Mommy

Have you every had a massage?
Do you think it's okay to name a baby before their born without meeting them?

  1. Wow Megan! You look great... and how sweet of your hubby to let you go to the spa for your birthday. I can't believe how quickly your pregnancy is going by!

  2. You are too cute! I have had a massage. I LOVE them. So relaxing and great for "me" time.

I think it is fine to name your baby before you meet them. I also think it is ok to change your mind if you meet your baby and feel the name is not right! Being a parent is sooooo cool.... you get to do whatever you want!!!
