I have the best husband. No lie. Last night we decided to not go to church and just watch Charles Stanley on TV. Yes, we should have gone to church, but it's so much easier to just watch a sermon from bed on a Sunday morning. Anyways, we decided that it would be a cleaning day today. We haven't been home together for a full weekend since October, and we haven't done a good cleaning since the beginning of December. Our Christmas decorations were still up, and I mean everything; the tree, the manger, the little Christmas village. Everything. We just haven't gotten around to taking it down. So today was the day.
We got up and watched our sermon which was a good one, by the way, about whether you are a giver or a getter. It really got me thinking. Once we got up, we made breakfast, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and toast - mmm! After breakfast Mr. Skinny got right up and started the laundry, stripped the bed, grabbed the towels from the bathroom, and tossed it in the laundry. He's been on laundry duty all day! The only thing I had to do pertaining to laundry was putting my clothes back on hangers and hanging them. Oh, and I had to help him make the bed. He even cleaned the bathroom sink for me! He helped dry the dishes, too!
Not that he's never this great of a husband, he is, but just him helping out, no questions asked, and without me reminding him about the laundry or what else needed to be done reminded me that I married the right man. I know that no matter what, he'll take care of me, he'll provide for me and our family and be a wonderful dad when that time comes in a few years. Sure, our day might not be complete without a few football breaks, but it is playoffs, what right do I have to pull Mr. Skinny away from the football scores? The Christmas decorations are completely away, our bedroom, the living room, kitchen and bathroom are all in order.
Now all that's left is to dust and vacuum.
