guess what i bought?!

Yep, that's right. There are two bikinis staring at me in my bedroom now as motivation. I went out yesterday with the goal of finding a bikini, just to buy it and use it as motivation. I went to Target and found a decent selection of bikinis, picked a couple up and went back to the dressing room. Now obviously I know what I look like in my "undergarments" (haha) but I didn't know how I'd look in a bikini. I haven't owned a bikini since I was about 16 or so, and I never thought I looked hot in one, but I wore one because I looked decent and that's what you're supposed to do as a 16 year old at the beach, right?

Anyways, I haven't worn one since I went to the beach in 2005 and thought that maybe if I'd pick one up, it would be some good motivation to loose these last pounds, however many they may be. I wanted Mr. Skinny's opinion of what I looked like in a bikini, so I made him sit right across from my dressing room in Target. I didn't want anyone to see me other than him. I took my tops and bottoms and tried them on, and turned to view myself in the mirror..

I didn't look half bad. I, as well as everyone, I'm sure, has seen some people at the beach who don't always look their best in a bathing suit. Bathing suit season is not kind to everyone. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't look terrible in my bikini. I showed Mr. Skinny and other than my boobs falling out, eh, that's normally what happens when you've got DDs. Le sigh.

I did criticize my flaws, like more women do, but I tried to focus on the overall picture. As I kept looking at myself, the more confident I felt. I wouldn't have walked around the store like that, but in a few months, hopefully, I'll be okay to wear one whenever I go swimming this summer.

This is a big step. To feel like I don't look absolutely horrible in a bikini, and decent enough that I could confidently wear it by summer is HUGE!

I also bought jeggings, haha. They were more of an impulse buy. I needed a new pair of skinny jeans for my boots, and these fit. They make my calves look awesome! Oh, I also got really cute boots from Payless. I can't wait to wear my new outfit on Tuesday! :)

Time to go make my nachos and buffalo chicken pizza for the super bowl - GO Steelers!
