I lost 0.5 lbs. today. I know, it's a loss, and any loss is good, but I was hoping to be in the solid 160's by the time I went on vacation (tomorrow). I know I ate a lot last week, including my Red Robin burger, but I thought with all my running, shredding and tennis playing, that I'd be able to lose another 1.5 lbs or 2 lbs. Oh well, enough complaining, a loss is a loss, and I did good. Honestly, I feel better, I feel thinner and I'm more active than I think I ever was. We'll look at the good.
I'm still on the fence about exercising at the beach. I'll obviously get some swimming in, and walking on the boardwalk, but I'm debating if I want to run or not. The weather looks great, pretty cool all week (mid 80s) so I can run even if I get up at like 8. My goal is to stay under 173, so that gives me a 4 pound gain that I'm allowing myself. I'm going to try really hard.
I'm definitely taking my blender, so I'll have my green monsters everyday, and I'll eat healthy in the room, hopefully, and I won't overindulge.
So I'll set out some goals for next week:
- Healthy food in the room
- Don't overindulge
- Track NSVs
- Don't gain more than 4 lbs.
- Exercise 2-3 times
Alright, well I guess that's it for now. I'll see everyone after vacation and let you know how it goes!

nervous about vacation
I keep going over in my head what I'm going to buy to eat, how I'm going to not gain a ton, and how I'm going to get my GHGs in before going out to eat, what to cook (I'm the chef for everyone there), and it's all getting confusing and frustrating.
I know I'm going to go out to eat, and I'm not going to try to stop that. We're going to Ocean City, MD; I've been going there for years, and there are places I just HAVE to eat at when we go there: Philips and J.R. Ribs. I know that I'm going to go overboard, and I'm just hoping that I won't use the excuse "getting my money's worth" so I can stuff my face until I'm so uncomfortable I don't want to walk around.
Philips will be the toughest, I LOVE seafood and since it's SO expensive, I really do want to get my moneys worth. If I'm paying $35 for a buffet, and I eat 1 lb. of crab legs, that's totally not worth it. I'll try to be smart with my choices though, I'm going to try to eat more seafood, without butter, and get my moneys worth that way rather than eating pasta, and creamy, delicious seafoody things.
J.R. Ribs, I'll probably get a rack of ribs, yes a whole rack. I'm not quite sure if I'll be able to eat them all, though. I had pasta last night, and I could have easily eaten 2 huge plates of it before WW, and now, I had a 1/2 plate of pasta, 1/2 plate of asparagus, and I was stuffed!
Those are my two places that I'm going to eat. I don't think that I'll track next week, I have it on my phone, technically, but it's too hard to find ribs and measure my seafood and everything. We'll probably go out to eat 2 other times, maybe once for breakfast, and once for dinner, and I'll try to be better on those outings.
All the meals we eat at the condo though, are going to be WW friendly. I think I'm going to take my blender and start off everyday with my green monster, so that I know I have all my vegs/fruit, 1/2 my dairy, and I have my oils in for the day. That only leaves water, which I'll probably be good with, we're going to the beach! I'll take my vitamin, so I'll have that, I'm sure I'll eat my lean protein with the seafood on that day at least.
The other dilemma: cooking for everyone. Now, I LOVE cooking and I love cooking for other people, and we'll see how it goes. I'm taking all my recipes, and we'll see what everyone decides they want to eat. I think the hardest thing is going to be agreeing on what to make. I'm really open to trying new things, but I know that my cousin tends to gravitate to food she's used to, like lasagna, or pasta with sauce. Her husband likes those kinds of foods, and I'm sure she's just used to cooking them. I like to try new things, and it might be hard for me to get her to expand her horizons. Her husband isn't going to be there Monday or Tuesday, so hopefully we can try out some new things for those two dinners.
As for exercise, I was thinking about getting up and running, but I know I'm not going to want to get up at 6am to go for a run on vacation, it is vacation after all. I've been so good this week though, I got 27 APs so far, and honestly, I'll probably get another 3 tonight, which pushes me to 30 (holy cow!), and I don't want to be totally lazy next week and do nothing, but it's vacation. I know - that's a ton of excuses, and just because it's vacation doesn't mean that I can through everything out the window. I think my cousin is going to bring her Tae-Bo, and she'll do that, and I'll bring my 30 Day Shred, and maybe we can do that together. Maybe I'll go for a run or 2. I really want to keep up on C25K, I've started it 3 different times, and really want to finish it before Christmas.
I'll pray for guidance, and God will help me figure everything out. I don't want to stress so much about vacation that I don't have a good time, either, and I'm kind of worried about that, too. I just need to relax and take each day one at a time.
"So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

i just want to get there!
Why can't we ever just fast forward our lives? I know that WW is working, I feel the difference, and I read all these success stories about people getting to goal, and I just want to get there! Yes, I'm inspired, but I guess also a tad jealous. If I would have just stuck with this last summer then I could easily have been to goal by now. Why couldn't I just do it?
Okay, now I got that out of my system. I just need to take every day one at a time, do what I can and get to my goal. Slow and steady wins the race, right? I'll get there. I know what to do, I know I'm doing the right thing, other than my eating habits on the weekends. I'm starting to enjoy exercise and I'm limiting my portion sizes. I'm getting better at cooking for just the two of us and if I'm full not to eat the rest of my plate, I can take it to work. I can cross my legs almost comfortably - anyone who had big thighs and couldn't cross the comfortably, you know what I'm talking about. I eat more fruits and vegetables than I need have to in order to meet my GHGs. I've done alot of change in my past 2 months on WW, and I am proud of myself. There's still a long road ahead, but if I can continue what I've done, and get my weekend eating habits under control, I'll be good to go.
I think I need to get a measuring tape and start measuring. That way if I don't see a loss on the scale because of gaining muscle or something, I'll be able to still see if I'm changing my body.
I should pray for strength and for God to take away these feelings of jealousy and instead be excited for those who are succeeding with their journey. As a Christian, I need to not be jealous, I need that emotion to leave my body and never enter in again. Lord, help me.
I just need to focus on MY weight loss journey, be proud of what I've done to help myself, and celebrate with those who are having victories.

fun info about me
Okay, so it might not really be "fun" but I'm bored at work and figured since my posts consist mostly of WW things, I would do a different post.
Things about me:
1. Christianity defines me. I love God with all my heart, I know that everything happens for a reason. He has a plan for all of us, and He has reasons when we think that things don't go as planned. I pray for everyone who does not know Him, and pray that He uses me however He sees fit.
2. With that said, I don't judge. It is not my place. I will have a civil conversation with anyone about anything, but don't expect to change my beliefs. I want to be more like Jesus, caring, loving, friendly, reliable, trustworthy. I'm not one of those Christians who won't talk to someone because they are a sinner. I may believe that certain things are sins, but I will never judge based upon that.
3. I'm a Disney World fanatic. I could live there if I could afford it - they're actually building houses on the resort. I've been there 5 times in the past 9 years and I would go back again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, hubby doesn't want to go back down until we have kids.. but I'm working on convincing him to take me on a Disney Cruise!
4. I also am a Harry Potter fanatic. I've read the series at least 10 times, and that's only including the last book, I've read the previous ones probably close to 20 times. I have the majority of the movies memorized and will be very sad when the last movie comes out. I need to go to the Wizarding World of HP ASAP!
5. I know the person I want to be, and have a very hard time becoming that person. Along with my WLJ, I'm trying to change myself and become that person. I need to pray and ask God to help change me.
6. I have the best family, in laws and friends a person can ask for. I know how much they all love me and would do anything for me. I'm incredibly blessed for them all and can only hope that I show them the love and friendship they have showed me.
7. I don't believe in hate. I try to see the best in people and am incredibly quick to trust others and I always want to look for the good in people.
8. I still sleep with my blankie. This blankie was passed down from my three older cousins who never showed any attachment, to me, and I love it. There came a time when I forgot it at my aunt's house, so I decided I didn't need it anymore (I was about 9 at the time), and I put it in my baby box. For some unknown reason, I then decided to bring it out again and start sleeping with it. With the help of my grandma, I cut it in two and made a pillowcase out of half. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but it's my comfort. Just the texture of it is a comfort when I'm upset or angry.
9. I pray to be blessed with children someday. If our finances were right, I would probably already be pregnant if God chose to bless me with kids, but we have way too much debt to think about having kids. My ultimate job is to be a mother, it's always been my dream job.
10. I'm so incredibly blessed to have a wonderful husband. We met in 5th grade, he thought I was annoying because I had a crush on him and stole his glasses and poked his dimple, but that's what 5th grade girls do when they have a crush on someone. We started dating in 10th grade and always stuck together. My mom told me to never date anyone who I couldn't see myself marrying, and with that advice, I assumed that I would get married to the boys I "dated" (it was middle school, not really dating), and hubby was the only one who stuck around and was okay with it.

i played tennis! well, tried to...
Good morning!
I'm sore, but I'm still in a good mood this morning. I got suckered into a lifetime movie last night, so I didn't go to bed until 11 last night, which I knew was dumb, but I still did it. Hubby and I started watching it, so I had to finish the movie, even though he went to bed. It wasn't the best decision to watch it though, it was about a woman who became a prostitute so she could make money for her family, but she basically became addicted to the money and couldn't give it up. She was so tired, she started snorting crack to stay awake. The "massage therapy" place she worked got busted and she gave a list of 69 prominent members of the community in return for a shorter jail time, so she only got 30 days in jail. It was interesting, but I like Hallmark movies better, I like happy ending. In my opinion, happy endings aren't a shorter time in jail.
I got up at 5:30 and did my shred rather than go for a run. My legs are sore from either running or tennis yesterday, so I didn't want to push it and run again today. I'll hopefully run tomorrow morning.
Hubby and I attempted to play tennis last night. We bought rackets over the weekend decided to try it out. Man, we are terrible! I didn't think it would be that hard, it seems easier. I think we only successfully hit the ball back and forth about 3 times. I was sweating though! I get so proud of myself when I sweat, I show it off to hubby and he just laughs at me. He comes home from work everyday and it looks like he jumped in a pool he's so sweaty.
My menu for today?
Breakfast:
-egg white omelet with 1 slice canadian bacon, mozz cheese on a wheat bagel thin (4pts.)
-1 c. V8 fusion light (1pt.)
Snack:
-3 c. light popcorn (1pt.)
Lunch:
-Salad with spinach, romaine, 1 tbsp. feta cheese, 3 slices turkey lunch meat and light balsamic vinegarette (3pts.)
-100 cal. pack of choc. chip cookies (2pts.)
-Fiber One yogurt (0pts.)
Snack:
-maybe 1/4 c. trail mix (4pts.)
Dinner:
-Reuben Sandwich (5pts.)
-Classic coleslaw (3pts.)
-2 ears corn on the cob - no butter (2pts.)
-2 c. skim milk (3.5pts.)
I'm going over with my trail mix honestly, so I'll try not to eat that, but if I'm hungry, I'm going for it. With all my activity this week, I already kicked the butt any points in the red (yay!), so I don't mind going a few more over just if I'm hungry.
As for yesterdays goals:
- I need to lose this week before the beach, I want to get in the solid 160s before I blow it all at the beach so I need to do my Shred tonight, and maybe another run, or play some tennis. Anyways, I need some kind of activiy tonight. / done, played tennis last night and earned 6 APs!
- Follow my food plan / also done, I didn't go over at all night
- Drink 72 oz. of water / finished as well! I thought I wasn't going to do it, but I sucked down water like it was my job!
Today's goals? I need some new goals, like try to compliment someone everyday. I'm getting bored with eat right, drink water, workout and read my Bible. I do those, so they aren't goals.
- drink 80 ounces of water (let's increase it and see if I can do it!)
- follow food plan
- workout
- read my Bible tonight, already read it this morning. I read it last night, and it was just what I needed.
- compliment someone today (new goal!)
"Actions, looks, words and steps form the alphabet by which you may spell character."

-3 c. light popcorn (1pt.)
- compliment someone today (new goal!)

the weekend confessional...
Okay, so I need to do a confession on this Monday morning. Sigh.. I was hoping that I would stay OP all weekend, and I failed, kind of miserably.
Let's start with Friday's goals:
Read Bible 2x (half done) /didn't finish reading the other half = fail
Shred tonight at some point /nope, didn't do that either
Follow my eating plan /I did, but then I added KFC
Drink 72 ounces of water /The only goal I did complete - I drank 83 ounces!
Friday night - we decided to go to Walmart, well we were starving after we left Walmart and where do we go? KFC.. I didn't do too bad, I had 2 strips, 1 drumstick and individual size of mac and cheese for a total of 13 points. I had 3 points left from the day, so that I only went overboard 10 points and I was okay with it.
Saturday - I had a green monster for breakfast (5pts.) and a sandwich for lunch (3pts.). We met one of my friends at the mall and walked around, and she bought me Starbucks, I couldn't say no! So I got a light mocha frap, and I didn't count the pts. After we left the mall, Hubby said we couldn't spend any money, and I know we shouldn't, so we went home, despite my complaining, and had leftover shepherd's pie for dinner (5pts.) with milk (of course! - 3.5pts.).
Well Hubby was on call this weekend to fix pipes in DC if someone busted their pipe, and guess what? At 10:30pm, we were on our way to DC. I knew I had to be a good wife and go with him, he was tired, so we went, with our Colt .45 because it's a sketchy area, yes, awesome, I know.
We didn't get home until 2am, and we were starving when we came home, so we stopped at Sheetz. I know I didn't pick the best choices (caesar wrap & fries) but it was delicious! I tracked it and moved on.
Sunday morning, we slept in since we had such a late night, and wouldn't you know - we get another call at 11am for another busted pipe. I made my green monster for breakfast, and we headed off to DC, again. I'm just grateful we got 8 hrs of sleep! We went down and Hubby fixed the pipe, then we were hungry. Well, I was craving Red Robin (YUM!).. so we had to find a Red Robin. I got my Whiskey River BBQ Burger with fries and 2 glasses of freckled lemonade for a total of 37 points, yes, 37 points!!! I'll say though, it was SO worth it! Oh man was it good. I was kind of surprised that I ate the whole thing, I thought maybe my stomach had shrunk since I started WW and oh no, I ate the WHOLE thing, AND all my fries! Mmm, it was delicious.
We went to Arundel Mills, too, which is this HUGE mall, and I bought a new sports bra for my goal of losing 10 lbs. I was so excited when I tried it on - it actually fits! I don't think I've ever had a bra that fit before. I can jump around and there's so little bounce! It's awesome!
I tracked, and right now I'm in the red 13 points. But (NSV) I went for a run this morning! I ran for 15 minutes, which is a HUGE thing for me. It was great, I feel so good now!
Now for my daily goals:
- I need to lose this week before the beach, I want to get in the solid 160s before I blow it all at the beach so I need to do my Shred tonight, and maybe another run, or play some tennis. Anyways, I need some kind of activiy tonight.
- Follow my food plan
- Drink 72 oz. of water
My menu?
Breakfast: Green Monster (5pts.)
2 pieces of WW bread w/ 3 tbsp. part skim mozzarella cheese (2pts.)
Lunch: Leftover shepherd's pie (3.5pts.)
Banana (2pts.)
Plum (0.5pts)
Fiber One Yogurt (0pts.)
Snack: Celery (0pts.)
Dinner: Pork Chops with Sauteed Apples and Sauerkraut (5pts.)
Small baked potato w/ 3 tbsp. mozz. cheese (2.5pts.)
2 c. skim milk (3.5pts.)
That's exactly 24 points.
I feel better now that I confessed my WW weekend sins. I'm determined to see a loss this week though, now with me starting to run, and drinking green monsters, hopefully I'll see a loss.

friday WI
I did pretty good - lost 1.2 lbs this morning, so I'm down to 169.8 - I'm so excited to be in the 160's and I am DETERMINED not to get back into them while I'm on vacation, which will be VERY hard.
I succeeded in doing my Shred last night, I did it right when I got home, which is new for me, I usually don't work out until later. I'm definitely getting used to doing the workout, I only had to take a 3 second breath twice, I think. I turned the TV down and put my itunes on though, I'm gettin sick of Jillian's jokes and "motivation" aka meanness.
I felt so good knowing that I worked out earlier and I could relax the rest of the evening. I would love to be able to do this every day, but I know I can't really because I want to have dinner ready for hubby when he comes home from work. I know I don't have to, but I want to. He works hard all day, while I just sit at my desk, he's hungry and deserves a good meal when he comes home. He'd be okay if I told him I was going to work out before making dinner, but I would feel bad. So I guess I'll just stick with working out at night.
Finally, I believe I found the solution for motivating myself to lose weight and the answer has been sitting in front of me all the time - God! Yes, God. My July goals included praying and reading my Bible 2 times each day, and until this week, I've kind of slacked on that. I make excuses which I know is terrible, I either am too tired, or hubby's sleeping and I don't want to wake it. Well no excuses anymore. I started praying on Tuesday morning, and reading my Bible again and I feel so much better! God really is wonderful and He'll help me get through this.
Oh, I tried my first Green Monster this morning, for those of you who don't know what it is - greenmonstermovement.com
Mine was more of a purple monster - maybe I didn't put enough spinach in? Anyways, I followed the first recipe and just added 2 c. spinach, 1 container vanilla yogurt, 1/2 c. skim milk, 1 banana, 1/2 c. blackberries and ice. The blackberries gave it a purple-y color, but it was pretty good. I added 1 tbsp. of PB2 - a ground peanut butter sub. - bellplantation.com - it's pretty awesome and only 1 pt. for 2 tbsp of this stuff (it's ground peanuts basically, that you mix with water).
So that was my breakfast, I could definitely taste the peanut butter and bananas. I think I'll make them a couple times a week, we'll see if it affects my energy like "they" claim.
Menu:
B - "Green" Monster: 5pts.
S - 1 c. grapes: 1pt.
L - WW lasagna (again, I'm so sick of this!): 4.5pts.
1 c. mixed berries: 1pt.
2 containers of Fiber One yogurt: 1pt.
D - Classic Shepherd's Pie (I didn't make this last night, with hubby sick, he didn't want to eat and we still had lasagna, so I had leftovers - AGAIN!): 5pts.
2 c. skim milk: 3.5pts.
3 tbsp. part skim mozzarella cheese: 1pt.
That leaves me with 1.5pts. for the day and all my GHG's filled except whole grains, so I might have toast later tonight.
Goals today:
-Read Bible 2x (half done)
-Shred tonight at some point
-Follow my eating plan
-Drink 72 ounces of water
Let's see how I did with yesterday's goals:
-stick to my food plan - done, even though I subbed lasagna for shepherd's pie, I didn't go over
-do my 30 Day Shred tonight - done, very successfully I might add :)
-drink 72 ounces of water - done again, and I'm getting used to so much water, I don't have to run to the bathroom all the time.
I'll check in tomorrow!
