I had a great weekend. My field trip to Jamestown was pretty fun and I got to hang out with new people, which was a lot more fun than I thought. We went to Jamestown Settlement on Saturday, which was really hands on and great for kids, although it had it's faults. Yesterday we went to Historic Jamestown, where the actual site of the original settlement was, and had a tour there.
The highlight of the weekend was Saturday night though. I got to hang out with people I usually don't, 3 other people, and we went out to eat at a tavern in Colonial Williamsburg, and we went to a bar. I know I'm super lame, but this is the first bar I'd ever been to. I had no idea what to order, so one of the guys I was with was super sweet and ordered me the drink that one of his old girlfriends used to drink, and I have to say, it was pretty good. We didn't drink too much, I only had one drink and we were back to our hotel by 10pm. If we weren't up that morning at 6am, I bet we would have stayed out later. My dinner was soo good! I had crab stuffed flounder with fresh veggies and oven roasted potatoes. There were no lights in the tavern, so we ate by candlelight, which was different. I had a great time, really. It was so much fun.
Once I got home yesterday, I roughly tracked everything, expecting to go wayyy over my points, and surprisingly, I tracked most of what I can remember, and I'm still OP. I used most of my APs and all my weeklies, but I didn't go totally overboard. I'm super proud of myself. Walking around most of Saturday totally helped me, and I went for a run yesterday morning, so it all balanced out.
I am super excited for this week. I'm only working 2 days this week (I normally work 3) because of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 comes out on Thursday night, well Friday morning, however you want to look at it. Thursday night at midnight, so technically Friday. I took off work on Friday because of that, I knew that I'd be dead tired if I came to work. Saturday I'm going to NYC with my mom to see the Rockettes, and I'm super excited about that, too. I had a paper due this week, but the prof. moved the date, so it's not due until after Thanksgiving now.
DH started his new job today, I'll let you guys know how he likes it either tomorrow or on Tuesday. I'm praying he's not nervous, and he likes everyone who he's working with.
Happy Monday everyone!
