2012 Goals.

It took me so long to write this because I wasn't sure how I wanted to handle my 2012 goals. I don't like to call them resolutions only because of the bad connotation of failed resolutions. Also, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do any kind of goals because being pregnant, I'm not sure how this year is going to pan out. I don't know how I'm going to feel after having a baby, and I don't want to set my goals too high. I also feel like this year is going to be split into before/prepare for baby, and being a mom. I thought about doing goals for the first half and then re-evaluating them after I have the baby, but I think I can make them general enough so that they can work throughout the year. So here goes nothing!

1. Be the healthiest woman I can be through my eating habits. This includes eating well, making sure I have enough fruits and veggies every day, along with balanced meals and correct portions. This also includes sweets/treats in moderation. I know that when I have the baby it might be eating whatever someone makes for me, and if that's the healthiest I can be at that time, then that's just fine. I want to do my best.

2. Be the healthiest woman I can be through exercise. After baby, I really want to get back into running, but we'll deal with that hurdle when we get there. Maybe I won't be able to run due to an injury, but I want to find something that I can do and stick with it. Right now, that means walking on the treadmill. If I get to the point where walking isn't as comfortable, then maybe I'll do some yoga, but I really want to take time every day and try to work on my fitness.

3. Deliver a baby to the best of my ability. I have higher hopes for this one than might be encouraged. I'll write a blog post on that in some later months, but for right now, this means to do a ton of research and prepare my body, my mind, and Mr. Skinny to deliver a baby in the next few months. This also means that if something happens and it would be safer to deliver baby via c-section, don't beat myself up and think I did something wrong, God has His reasons, and I need to trust Him. I also want to be the best mom I can be.

My little cousin Colton the morning after he was born!

4. Save money & pay things off. Does this goal ever go away? I don't think so, and I guess I'm okay with that. This one also comes with a sub-goal - stop being so materialistic! I don't need the latest gadget to be the best person I can be! Appreciate what I have, be frugal with money, be smart. Spend more time with family and less time on my iPhone. Don't buy what we don't need.

5. Get closer to God. This is never going to go away either, and I'm definitely okay with that. Mr. Skinny and I know we want to be the best role models we can be for him/her. This means going to church on a regular basis, and taking the baby with us. My mom and I have talked that we'd like to help out in the nursery so that we can keep an eye on the baby. Really, I'm going to try to keep the baby with me in church. But we'll play that by ear. I'm also going to try to read my devotions to the baby, I read them aloud now because I know that the baby can hear me talking and so I pray out loud too, to set a good example.

So pretty much that's it! Honestly, I want to be the best person I can be, best wife, daughter, mother, cousin, and sister. I think they're all general enough that they shouldn't change, but we'll take this year with a grain of salt considering I have no idea what kind of baby I'll have and what new challenges will be coming with that.

Tell me:

Did you set any 2012 goals?
Do you call them goals or resolutions?

2011 Goals.

Be prepared for a bunch of posts in the next couple days. I'm going to do a combined week 18 and 19 letter to baby. I have information about the ultrasound which might go in it's own post. I also have a 2011 recap to include, and I'm thinking about how I want to do my 2012 goals. I'll try to do one a day so you don't get too overloaded, but I hope to be back to normal blogging as of last week. Hope everyone had a great New Years!

A ton happened in 2011. I honestly think that if you told me last year at this time where we'd be right now, I would have never believed you. Ever. Crazy to think that even though you try to do some goals and plan everything for a year, a year is a really long time, no matter how fast it goes, and things happen that you just can't plan.

Here are the goals for 2011 that I set out in January 2011.

  1. Pay off as much debt as possible. That doesn't mean the minimum payment. If I want to have a baby, we need to have $0 credit card debt. Ha! Um, yeah so we're pregnant, and have probably the same amount of credit card debt that we had last year. We might have paid off a little bit, but we haven't made huge leaps and bounds in that category.
  2. Keep putting money away in a savings account, save as much money as possible. We definitely accomplished this one. We have a decent savings account and we're doing really good with putting money away with each paycheck in case Mr. Skinny is laid off (very unlikely this year).
  3. Continue working on being healthy; losing weight, working out, running, eating healthy. Hopefully this means getting to goal, looking hot and feeling awesome about myself, but I'm not going to beat myself up if I can't get to that. I know how much of a slow battle this loosing weight thing was for me. I lost about another 10-15 pounds before I got pregnant which was pretty good for me. I came to a couple more standstills, but pushed through. I'm still 10 pounds less than I was this time last year so I consider that a win. I'm back to eating healthy, and although I haven't run and won't be through my pregnancy, I know that I really did pretty well before my back started giving me problems and I got pregnant.
  4. Try new foods, new cuisines. Cook new recipes that I would never have tried beforeI actually think I did really well with this before we moved. And even once we moved up and before I got pregnant. Now, it's whatever sounds good to the pregnant lady. I want to keep this on the list for post-baby 2012, since I really love cooking and trying new things.
  5. Get closer with God. Go to church weekly, get involved in a church. God has blessed my life and marriage and I owe Him a lot, and have been neglecting that relationship. Oh yeah, done. Since moving back up and going to church weekly, it's been a lot easier to focus on God. This goal will never be complete, and I can just keep striving for that relationship with God.
  6. Get closer to my husband. We've only been married a year, but it definitely is different when you're married. We see each other pretty much daily, but it's easy to fall into a habit and not take the time to spend a day together. I know we'll be on a strict budget, but I'd like to go on a few weekend trips throughout the year and just spend time together. So the weekend trips never happened. Other than going to Ocean City which was super fun and very appreciated, we didn't have the money or time to go away for a weekend, but we've enjoyed date nights monthly and spending more time together. I'd consider this a success.
  7. Move toward vegetarianism. I'm pretty sure I could never become a full vegetarian, the combination of my hate of the texture of beans and my husband's love of meat will prevent that, but I can make a few meatless meals a week, and incorporate vegetarian meals and foods into my diet. Over the summer, I actually did a lot with this. I did two meatless dinners a week, but it definitely went out the window once I got pregnant. I'd like to keep working on this one, too.

WI Wednesday and Weekly Reflections

Score! The scale is going in the right direction - FINALLY!

I know that it was due to my own fault, no one was forcing me to eat the junk food I was eating, but I got my motivation back. Took a few weeks, but as I was talking about it with a co-worker, I stayed within 3 pounds of my lowest weight, which means I can maintain successfully. Yes, I still have 20ish pounds go loose, but I learned something.

Anyways, I did loose this week, and I'm down 1.2 from last Wednesday. I can get the scale moving in the right direction now. Summer is coming, graduation is coming, and I want to feel good about myself!

My goals for last week went pretty successfully, too!
1. I tracked everything! Even my Burger King, Rita's, Sheetz and I still have a good loss!
2. Work out 3x - WIN! I went to the gym last Wednesday for an awesome run, went to my spinning class on Thursday, and went for a long (mostly) walk, little run on Monday when it was beautiful out.
3. As for my papers, both were a fail. I am going to be interviewing my uncle for my seminar paper, but I haven't had time yet to start my Native American paper, although I did pick a topic.
4. My daily devotions - another win. I look forward to this time every morning, where I can spend time in God's word, read a devotion and pray for God to impact my life that way.
5. I like to think that I've been a good wife this past week, but I've had my moments. Everyone does though. I do think I've done a pretty good job though.

Next week's (4/6 - 4/12) goals:
- Continue tracking everything. I'm going to NYC this weekend, but I plan on tracking whatever I eat.
- Keep emptying our freezer. We're coming up short on money since we owe a HUGE chunk of taxes this year, that came out of nowhere, so we don't have a ton of money to buy new foods each week. I think we're going to have to be pretty creative and start emptying our pantry and freezer.
- Work out 3x again.
- Start on my seminar paper.
- Get a bibliography started for the Native American paper

Happy Hump Day!

WI Wednesday and Reflection

*Sorry for the big paragraph chunks. I hate it too, but Blogger won't let me change it :( I gained again, but it's not bothering me today. I feel back on track, I know where I'm headed and what I need to do. That run on Monday really helped me out and get my head back on straight. I only gained 0.6, and I didn't drink all my water yesterday, and have leftover shrimp linguine alfredo for lunch yesterday. I did work out on Monday, worked out yesterday thanks to my Aerobics class - by the way, the instructor is a personal trainer and in my opinion, she brings too much of her personal trainer personality into a college PE class. Seriously, she could give Jillian Michaels a run for her money. And yet, she treats us like we know nothing about health and fitness, anyways, that's another topic. I've also been really focused on eating real foods over processed foods, as well as eating less meat. I'm debating erasing my weight history on my weight tracker - again. I've been doing so badly in the past few weeks that my average loss is actually an average gain! That's pretty depressing, don't ya think? Since it's almost the end of March, I'm going to look back on the month. I'll also look back on my weekly goals. - I maintained this month. I lost in the beginning, and gained in the end, but I will end the month with the exact same weight that I started the month off at - 158.4 - and I don't view that as a fail, but rather a learning experience. I can go on vacation and not gain a ton of weight. I can have an off month with minimal exercising and maintain. - I haven't been doing my yoga. I really want to get back into yoga, I'm just having a hard time finding the time to do it, and I'd really like to go to a class, it's so much easier to do in a class than by yourself. - Tracking this month was pretty off. Tracking this week was pretty off, too. I didn't track the weekend and most certainly did not track the deliciousness I had from Red Robin or Red Lobster. Fail. - This week I've really done better at spending time with God, and being a better wife, so those are both wins as far as goals go. - I successfully interviewed my dad for my research paper, but I haven't set up a time to interview my uncle yet. I'm waiting for HIM to get back to ME. Not my fault.
This week's (3/30 - 4/5) goals:

WW goals -

- Work out 3 times

- Track EVERYTHING!

Non WW goals -

- Start researching Native American paper and writing Sem. paper

- Continue being a nice wife

- Continue doing my daily devotions - these are helping me so much. I realized that my Bible has daily devotions, so I started from the beginning and I'm going through them, and I feel like God wrote them just for me. It's a wonderful feeling. I might write a blog each morning or evening about my daily devotion and just reflect on it.

Just for some April goals, nothing major, I'm going to be focusing more on weekly goals.

- Get the scale moving in the right direction again.

- Aim for 60APs in the month of April. I did it in January, I can do it again.

What are your April goals?

Getting My Focus Back

Yesterday I thought about my weight loss journey and I'll probably bounce some ideas around here so that I can see exactly where I need to go.

I've learned a ton from joining weight watchers and my brief but important rendez-vous with Spark People. I've learned about everything from eating real food over processed foods, working out, discovering new foods I would have never thought I'd like and wouldn't have tried, learning to listen to hunger signals over that "I'm SO full" feeling that I was used to. It's incredible and I honestly don't think that I could ever go back to the way I was. I don't want to quit weight watchers, at least not yet. I don't think I'm ready to, but I feel like it's holding me back in a way.

I just want to be healthy, I want to listen to my body and know what I need to eat, when I need to eat it. But I'm worried I can't do that now. If I give myself the freedom to not track my foods, I'll be eating pasta for every dinner.

One of the major problems, I think, is that I'm getting too hung up on the number on the scale. I want it to go down, and I know that every tenth of a pound lost is wonderful, and it all adds up, but it's not moving quick enough for my liking. I'm really toying with the idea of weighing myself every other week, or even once a month. Some people might not be able to succeed this way, they might need the accountability of a weigh in to keep them on track. I honestly don't think I do.

Back in September I skipped a weigh in. I knew I would gain, but I knew it wasn't a real gain, so I skipped one week, and the next week I had lost a larger amount. I've been on weight watchers for 10 months now and I'm getting sick of tracking everything. I want to just know what my body needs, and eat that. I see all these health blogs, where people just know, they get all their fruits and veggies in, and they're healthy. I guess honestly, I'm just jealous. I want that, and I want it now. I don't want to get keep working toward my goal weight, I just want to be healthy, and I think that is my definition of healthy - intuitive eating.

I would love your feedback on this topic - how did you get to the point of intuitive eating if that's where you are? If not, what's your plan once you get to your goal, and what's your definition of healthy?

Anyways, for this week's (3/23 - 3/29) goals:
- Track everything I eat
- Work out 2 times
- Yoga once
- Interview my dad for my research paper
- Set up an interview with my uncle for the same paper

And let's finish up with some Disney pictures:

Momma and I at Animal Kingdom

Birthday cupcake at 1900 Park Fare

Momma and I at EPCOT

Mad Hatter

goodbye february, hello march!

February wasn't the best of months. I'm really ready to say goodbye to it!

I started out the month with a WI of 157.6 and I have a feeling that I'll be ending the month roughly the same weight. Granted, it was a challenging month, dealing with heartbreak and death, so I think that I didn't gain anything this month is impressive. I hopped right back on the WW train once we got home, and I actually missed eating healthy.

I love the promise of a new anything; new day, week, month, year. It's fantastic, just imaging what that newness has to bring you, setting up high expectations for the new time. I love it.

So here's to March!

This month, I'm headed on vacation for 1 week with my momma to Disney World. I know where we're going to eat, and I'm not going to be tracking. I plan on focusing on my hungar signals, and hopefully getting my GHGs in, but I know me, and it's all going to be thrown to the wind when I get down there. No, I'm not setting myself up to fail, but I'm setting the expectation rather low.

That's the only thing that might be throwing me off this month. Other than that I'm going to track every day and really focus on my GHGs, which I've been doing really good with.

I really want to start yoga again, but my gym only has a class on Mondays at 5:30 which doesn't really work out for me. I could make it work, but it's not ideal. I usually do my workout from 4:20-5:15ish, go home, make dinner, eat, do dishes/laundry and do homework/watch TV and head to bed. Doing yoga at 5:30 would just screw it up for me. I'm thinking I need to do yoga in the morning, and just get some DVDs. Does anyone have any recommendations for some good yoga DVDs?

Schoolwork, ahh schoolwork. I really need to stay on top of my schoolwork. Do the readings. Do the extra credit. Do the papers early. Start the papers way early. I'm really going to try to buckle down on this in March and do really well.

Spending time with God and spending time with Mr. Skinny. God is important to me, very important and I know that I don't give Him the amount of quality time that I should be devoting to him. I need to pray more, find a devotional to read and spend time in God's word with Him. There are a lot of decisions that we have to make in the new few months and we need to focus on our own journey with God to come to the right decisions.

And Mr. Skinny. Oh my wonderful Mr. Skinny who is calling lenders right now to see how much of a down payment we need in order to buy a house. My wonderful Mr. Skinny who loves to drink his mountain dew and won't drink the smoothies I make for him. My wonderful Mr. Skinny who loves to work 12 hour days on the job site, but won't take a walk with me on the weekends. My wonderful Mr. Skinny who will eat the roasted asparagus I make for him, but eats a lunch full of processed foods. That's my Mr. Skinny, and I want to spend more time with him, and help him see that just because he is skinny doesn't mean that he health is perfect. I want us to have a wonderful and long life together, God willing, and he needs to see that he can only help himself.

There ya have 'em, my long winded March goals!

february goals

Here they are, my February goals. I've had these written on my desk for about a week or so, but between being at school and I don't have them there and it not being February yet, I'll finally have them up today.

Please forgive the terrible phone picture... sigh
1. Track E V E R Y D A Y!
Seriously, there's only 28 days, with no vacations, big plans on the calendar to through me off track. Even Valentine's Day -- eh, no big deal. I do want to go on a date night to a fancy place, but I'll track that to the best of my ability.
2. Workout 3-4x week.
That does NOT include my 2 step aerobics classes that I have on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There's no reason that I can't go after work MWF and one day on the weekends. Even if it was just yoga or strength training, something to get me moving.
3. Stay on top of schoolwork.
Oh yes, the time has come again for my schoolwork to start. This is my last semester, and I want to go out with a bang. I don't have the best work ethic, but I have to stay on top of my homework to do the best I possibly can this semester. That's my goal. I'm not shooting for straight A's but for the best that I can. I'm going to give it my all.
4. Spend more time with Mr. Skinny.
Quality time. Being the same room and each on our own electronics is not quality time. I'm going to hopefully be able to shut off our phones/laptops and enjoy each other, just talk and hold hands.
5. Continue trying new foods.
I have brussel sprouts in my freezer waiting for me, and I still have a couple things on my list to try. Hopefully I'll be able to incorporate some of them in my meals this month.
6. 60 situps a day.
I'm increasing this from 50 last month to 60 this month. If I do 15 crunches and 15 reverse crunches in the morning and at night, that's 60 right there. I can do that.
7. Weights 4x/week.
Until I come up with the money to buy New Rules of Lifting for Women, I'll just continue to follow my own upper body weight schedule and I'm going to focus on doing that 4x/week.
There ya have 'em! Keep me accountable please!

goal check-up

I figured I've gotta check myself each month and see how I'm doing on my goal, both for the month and for the year (if you forgot them, check them out here and here).

First for the monthly goals:

1) Start going to classes at the gym.
Yeah, I started to meet this one when I took my cycling class, but then I fell off the wagon. Not so much because I wanted to, it just worked out that way. I would like to work on this more next month though, if time allows.

2) Track EVERYDAY!
I actually succeeded at this one. I've tracked, accurately to my knowledge, every day since January 3rd! That's a huge accomplishment for me.

3) Try new foods
I tried 2 new foods,
quinoa and polenta. Not too bad. I had the intention of trying brussel sprouts, they're sitting in my freezer as I type. I'll get there, eventually.

4) Follow a vegetarian diet 3 days/week
I'm going to say that I met this. I made a conscious effort to focus on what kinds of foods I was putting into my body. I didn't specifically figure out how many days I went vegetarian, but it was a good chunk.

5) 50 Situps each day
I tried. I made an effort on the days that I rememberd, and I'm going to increase this next month. I can feel my abs! They're still under the fat, but they're there!

6) Read Bible daily/pray/devotions
Um. Yeah. About this one... Not so great. I've been reading, but didn't do too well on the praying. And I haven't come up with the money for the devotional book yet. I'll keep working on it.

Overall, I think that January was a successful month. The tracking really helped me out a lot, and it showed me that I can stay OP even when I'm home, or out, or want to have pizza or Chinese for dinner. I can do it.

I started out at 163.2 and as of Wednesday's WI - I was 158.2 for a loss of exactly 5 pounds! I know that the first week was probably just a fluke gain, ya know, too much salt from New Years, not enough water kinda thing, but still. I haven't lost 5 lbs. in a month since September. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Now for a check on the 2011 goals.
1) Pay off debt
Ya know what? I'll say we're definitely making a good move in this one. We just got my college refund check -- yes, my college is paying me to go to school (it's a FAFSA thing, my financial aid was more than my bill for this year). So that check will be used to pay off one of our credit cards, and a chunk of another one. Then we'll be down to 2 credit cards! Woo hoo! We're slowly moving.

2)Keep adding more savings
DH is awesome with out checking/savings accounts. I swear he pulls money out of the air to put into savings, and it's fantastic. The last chunk of money from my refund is going to go in our savings account, so we'll have almost 1 months supply of money if we need to use it.

3)Work on being healthy
See above; I've been making a dent in that.
4)Try new foods and cuisines.
Again, see above

5)Closer to God
Not as much as I should be, but I'm working on it.

6)Get closer to Mr. Skinny
Big fat fail. Our electronics get in the way of us watching a movie together, or playing a game. He's on his iphone, I'm on my mac, and we're just not talking. It's terrible, and I'm hoping that sometime when it gets warmer we can go to DC for a day, or just spend an electronic free day alone and play monopoly or cards or something.

7)Vegetarianism
See above, slowly accomplishing
8)101 in 1,001
Another fail. I need to revisit that again. Hmm.

WI wednesday

i lost again - down another 0.4. it's not great, but i'll take it. especially after feeling so terrible on saturday night after having 2 pieces of lasagna and wishing i would throw it up. i won't let myself get like that this weekend, and i'm staying home so i can pretty easily stay OP while i'm home. hopefully i'll get to the gym friday, saturday and sunday. there's no reason why i shouldn't get there.

i'm almost done my second cycle of OP2Overcome, tomorrow will be my 21st day. i can't believe i have literally tracked every single day of january! that's a huge accomplishment! okay that's a lie, i've tracked every day since january 3rd, but still, that's pretty big. tracking has become such a habit now that i don't think i could not track a day. it's things like this that make me really excited and know that i can lose all this weight and get to my goal.

for my third cycle i'm going to get my GHGs in EVERYDAY and everyday after that, if i can't do it one day, then i have to start the cycle over again. hopefully this will be motivation to get 30 minutes of activity in everyday and focus more on my GHGs and correctly tracking everything. i'd really be able to continue with some great losses and hopefully get to goal by my 1 year WW-versary in may.

i'm still not sure what my goal will be. i might have another 18 pounds to lose, i might have 23 or maybe even 28 more to go. i'm not sure. i'm just going to have to see what my body looks like at those weights. 137 is the highest weight for a healthy BMI, but i'm a thicker boned girl, i don't know that i could get down to 130, although it would be great to say i lost 50 pounds. anyway, we'll cross that boarder when i get to it. for now i'll just keep moving toward that goal.

happy hump day all!

rewarding yourself and goal weight

I go back and forth on this topic. Mr. Skinny and I don't have a lot of money; we're in debt up to our eyeballs and it's really hard for me to justify spending money on something that I don't always need.

Secondly, rewards don't really motivate me. I usually just end up buying whatever it was that I'm supposed to wait for anyways, even when I don't make that goal. I'm thinking about trying punishments. That looks so strange to type. I don't like putting it that way. Umm.. what about taking something away from myself..? Is that any better?

Anyways, I'm not talking about burning my savings account if I don't lose 30 lbs. by March, I'm talking more, not letting myself watch TV if I don't track, or something like that. Tracking is the key to WW, obviously. In order to lose the rest of my weight, I need to track. I need to track every day; every bite, taste, or lick that goes into my mouth needs to be accounted for. If I do that, I don't go into the red majorly every week, the rest of my weight should come off.

Back to rewards. I know what I want when I get to goal. I'm still not sure what my goal is going to be, but I know what I want once I get to goal. I don't know how much it's going to cost, but I want 3 pairs of jeans that fit. When I say fit I mean that I am a pear-shaped woman. I've got womanly hips and thigh, but a smaller waist. No matter how heavy I get, I will always have a smaller waist. I want to search, no matter how long it takes me and find a jean that fits. I am willing to pay a good chunk of change for these jeans, and am even willing to get them taylored once I purchase them to make sure they fit.

Hopefully getting 3 or so pairs of jeans that I feel fantastic in and look great on me will help me to stay at my goal. Now I'm still not sure what my goal weight is - another post on that later, and another post later on what to do when I get to goal. Anyways, I'm going to get rid (I think) of all my clothes that are too big. It's hard because I know that *if* I gain the weight back I need clothes that fit, but I shouldn't gain the weight back. This is a
lifestyle change and I don't think I could go back to what I was eating before. I'm praying that a good pair of jeans, expensive, perfect fitting jeans will help me maintain successfully.

As for short term goals before I get to my goal weight, I have no idea.

What are your goals? Do you use short or long term goals?

goals for 2011

It's that time again. Time for everyone to set their get healthier, lose weight, be a better person goals for 2011. I've been thinking about mine. I didn't set any for last year because I just didn't think about it. I was in Disney World, on my honeymoon and enjoying life with Mr. Skinny. I guess our only goal was to get Mr. Skinny a job. That took quite a while, but eventually (March) he found one. The month that we would have had to move home if he didn't find a job, as our savings account was dwindling to nothing, literally, and that's what we were pulling from to pay all our bills.

Mr. Skinny and I have been talking about where we'd like to see ourselves by the end of 2011. He would love to see us be completely out of credit card debt. I agree, but don't know how realistic it is to dig ourselves out of $10,000+ of credit card debt in 1 year. That will be on our list, however, to come up with a strict budget, stick to it, and pay off as much debt as we possibly can. I graduate from college in May, and I'll probably just stick to working at my student job now, and I can as long as I'm still a student, part time or more. I can go to community college and keep working. I will look for a real job, but seeing as how I want to have kids in a year or so, I'm not going to sweat it if I can't find a full time job. God has a plan for us.

  1. Pay off as much debt as possible. That doesn't mean the minimum payment. If I want to have a baby, we need to have $0 credit card debt.
  2. Keep putting money away in a savings account, save as much money as possible.
  3. Continue working on being healthy; losing weight, working out, running, eating healthy. Hopefully this means getting to goal, looking hot and feeling awesome about myself, but I'm not going to beat myself up if I can't get to that.
  4. Try new foods, new cuisines. Cook new recipes that I would never have tried before.
  5. Get closer with God. Go to church weekly, get involved in a church. God has blessed my life and marriage and I owe Him a lot, and have been neglecting that relationship.
  7. Move toward vegetarianism. I'm pretty sure I could never become a full vegetarian, the combination of my hate of the texture of beans and my husband's love of meat will prevent that, but I can make a few meatless meals a week, and incorporate vegetarian meals and foods into my diet.
  8. Work on my 101 in 1,001 list - there are a few accomplishable goals on this list, and I can keep this list in the back of my mind and get a few crossed out.

There ya have it - my 2011 goals.
